Where My Feet Take Me

I doubt there are many road races in the world that could convince me to run them twice—except NIKE WE RUN TPE. Not only is it an iconic sporting event for women, but every edition has also marked an important milestone in the running goals I set for myself. This time, however, I didn’t just miss my milestone. Something happened to me that I had never experienced before in my life…I fainted! I even got the full life-flashing-before-my-eyes experience. Sure enough, NIKE WE RUN TPE always finds a way to become an unforgettable memory in a girl’s life… So I finally decided to lay it all out in the open and share what happened as a cautionary tale for runners everywhere, along with the many things I learned along the way—especially how important heart rate is as an indicator for monitoring your body throughout a race!

Training for a half marathon is a lot like going on a journey. For me, signing up for the NIKE WOMEN’S HALF MARATHON felt like booking a ticket for a trip of my own. Once I had committed to the goal, I started working hard to prepare for the adventure ahead. Writing this running post was every bit as unexpected as me completing a half marathon. Even though NIKE #WERUNTPE was what I called the first half marathon of my life, I never imagined I’d write about it and hadn’t even prepared to take proper photos. But throughout the week after the race, I kept finding myself thinking back at midnight to that beautiful yet grueling, unforgettable journey. It finally inspired me to put pen to paper—my first post since the Europe travel series went on hiatus a year ago. Surprised? Delighted? Excited? (Aren’t you embarrassed for me?)
