85 Days in Europe — Itinerary

I spent 85 consecutive days traveling around Europe and was lucky enough to return home safe and sound. Besides leaving things to fate, what mattered most was reading plenty of relevant information beforehand. Knowing what situations to watch out for helped me stay alert—and even take extra precautions before departure to avoid some predictable dangers. “85 days, one young woman, NT$200,000, and a crazy journey through 16 European countries.” But first, I must solemnly warn you: this 85-day, 16-country tour of Europe is a madwoman’s itinerary, and it certainly isn’t for everyone. Unless you have sturdy legs that don’t mind being yanked out like radishes, wake up every day thrilled to find yourself on different soil, or possess that foolish “if we don’t go crazy now, we’ll be old before we know it” spirit, the whole experience will become utterly dull—if not downright agonizing. Those three months in Europe now feel like a fleeting dream. I drifted through 16 countries so quickly, it was almost an out-of-body experience. I open my eyes… and now I’m back in Taipei. Some people say, “The dream is over. Time to face reality at last, huh?” I say: My dream came true!
